Dr. Janna Bentley is our Medical Director and a family doctor with a special interest in phlebology. She has over 19 years of experience in vein care and also serves as the President of the Canadian Society of Phlebology, ensuring the highest standards in varicose vein treatment.
At our full-service varicose vein treatment clinic, we start with a thorough ultrasound assessment conducted by one of our highly trained phlebology nurses. Dr. Bentley personally reviews the results and creates a customized treatment plan for each patient. For maintenance sclerotherapy, most costs are covered by MSP with an active referral from a doctor. For larger truncal veins, patients can choose between minimally invasive endovascular interventions, such as laser or glue, performed in our non-hospital-based surgical facility accredited by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC, or opt for surgical intervention in a hospital under MSP, including procedures like stripping or high ligation.

Is Varicose Vein Treatment Covered by BC Medical Service Plan?
British Columbia’s Medical Services Plan (MSP) covers the treatment of severe varicose veins that cause pain that hinders walking or venous complications such as bleeding, blood clots, skin eczema and ulceration. There are some treatment costs that MSP does not cover and these are paid by the patient. Note that vein treatments for cosmetic concerns are not covered by MSP. Additionally, VenaSeal and EVLT procedures are not covered by MSP; financing is available. All of the above is covered in your free consult (with referral): we promise to answer all your patient’s questions, give them all treatment options (MSP or private), and a cost quote (if applicable) with no surprises.
